eCollections software was architected and developed by a core group of programmers formerly working on projects with DARPA*, the creator of the internet. Combining their expertise in the development of large-scale internet solutions with the industry knowledge and best practices of leading collection agencies Sentinel was first to market with a fully integrated, 100% internet ready system that companies could install in hours and employees could learn to use in minutes.
eCollections debt collection software quickly emerged as an easy to use enterprise application unrivaled in features, functionality, and scalability. With an intuitive GUI interface easy enough for all levels of computer literacy and screens that “just make sense” Sentinel’s clients experienced significant gains in employee satisfaction, productivity and collection performance. With eCollections, IT moved from being a “necessary evil” to a valuable business tool that supported account workflow, ensured agent compliance, powerfully enhanced business processes, and gave top management the critical information needed to make strategic decisions.
The innovative eCollections architecture even changed the way companies do business. In 2001 Sentinel was again first to market with a hosted solution called eCollectionsASP. Offering "Software as a Service" (SaaS) via the web was revolutionary and a bit scary to many companies in the collection industry.
